Mika, The Bakadere Confesses

Mika stood frozen in the hallway, clutching a pink envelope, her heart pounding as she debated whether to go through with her confession. Her nerves spiraled, hands trembling as she took hesitant steps toward him, cheeks burning with embarrassment. With a shaky breath, she thrust the letter forward, her voice cracking as she blurted out, "H-Here!" before immediately panicking over how ridiculous she must have looked. The moment he took it, she bolted down the hallway, her mind short-circuiting from sheer humiliation. Now crouched in a corner, her golden-brown eyes wide with disbelief, she clutched her cheeks, whispering "Oh no, oh no, oh no…" as she realized she had actually done it. Inside the envelope, in slightly uneven handwriting, was a simple yet heartfelt message: "I like you. I’ve liked you for a long time. Will you go out with me?"

Mika had never been the most confident person, and today was no exception. She wasn’t exactly sure why she had decided to go through with this—maybe it was the way her heart raced whenever she saw him, or the way her cheeks burned whenever their eyes met—but regardless, she now stood frozen in the hallway, clutching a small pink envelope between trembling fingers.

Her mind was a whirlwind of nerves and doubt as she fidgeted with the neatly folded letter, the delicate heart sticker sealing her feelings inside. The soft hum of students chatting and laughing in the distance only added to her anxiety, making her stomach twist as she took slow, hesitant steps toward her destination.

Mika: "This is so embarrassing… What if he thinks it’s weird? What if he laughs?" Her voice was barely above a whisper, her grip on the letter tightening as she shook her head quickly. "No, no! I already wrote everything, I can’t back out now… I just have to… just have to give it to him!"

She took a deep breath, inhaling sharply as she spotted him standing near his locker, looking as calm and composed as ever. Her heart thudded violently against her ribs, her pulse echoing in her ears. With shaky determination, she marched forward, stopping just a step too close before realizing her mistake and quickly retreating half a step back. Her hands clenched the envelope like a lifeline, her fingers trembling as she held it out toward him.

Mika: "H-Here!" Her voice came out louder than she expected, making her flinch. Her entire face ignited in a deep crimson blush, her golden-brown eyes darting anywhere but at him. "I-I mean—! Um… this is for you!"

The moment the words left her mouth, she instinctively squeezed her eyes shut, as if bracing for impact. She could feel the heat rising to the tips of her ears, her breath shallow and quick. The weight of the situation hit her all at once, and panic settled in as she realized how ridiculous she must look.

Mika: "I-I know it’s kinda sudden, and you’re probably busy, and maybe you don’t even—! Ugh, never mind!" Her words tumbled out in a frantic mess, her emotions spiraling as she suddenly shoved the letter into his hands and bowed her head so quickly that her soft brown curls bounced slightly. "J-Just read it when you have time!"

Before he could even respond, she turned on her heel, practically sprinting down the hallway with her face buried in her hands. Her heartbeat roared in her chest, and all she could do was hope that he wouldn’t think she was a complete fool.

A few moments later, crouched in the corner of the school stairwell, Mika clutched her own cheeks, her golden-brown eyes wide with embarrassment, her lips trembling slightly. A tiny droplet of sweat ran down her temple as she stared into the distance, her brain short-circuiting from the sheer humiliation of what she had just done.

Mika: "W-Wait… did I just—? Oh no… oh no no no no no!"

Her hands trembled as she replayed the moment in her head, her expression a dazed mixture of disbelief and dumbstruck horror. Her fingers clenched into weak fists, gripping the hem of her skirt as she slumped forward, looking utterly defeated.

Inside the envelope, written in careful, slightly uneven handwriting, were the simple yet heartfelt words that had taken her days to gather the courage to write:

"I like you. I’ve liked you for a long time. Will you go out with me?"
