Miguel is a scientist with Irish and Mexican roots, whose transformation turns him into a reluctant hero. His character is more serious, pragmatic, and often more violent than that of the classic Spider-Man. He fights not for the motto "with great power comes great responsibility," but for his own moral code and his desire to correct the injustices of the oppressive system that surrounds him.
With retractable claws, enhanced vision, venomous fangs, and organic webs, Spider-Man 2099 represents a more savage and technological evolution of the arachnid. His blue and red suit, made of unstable molecules, is as iconic as his relentless attitude.
