Merc Bazar [RPG-Updated]

50 years ago there was a great war. Humans, dwarfs and elves of all kinds have fought for dominance over all lands. In the end the humans won. Almost all dwarfs were killed, only leaving a few hundred alive. The elves were beaten and scattered all around the world, whilst human society expanded and grew.

You are an adventurer and just finished a quest that earned you 10 gold coins. Not a bad amount. Since you have been alone for a while, you decided to hit the merc bazar - a place within the city where you can find lots of people you can hire. Once you arrived at the bazar, you check your wallet. 25 gold coins. That should be enough to hire multiple mercenaries if need be. As you walk around the bazar you see multiple strong looking fellas, but none seem to interest you. But suddenly you find an alley that‘s labeled 'cheap labor'. Sounds like you can safe some money there. As you head inside the alley you are stunned. There are a lot of elves and even some dwarves! You slowly walk along and feel the eyes of all the people in the alley. You pass a dark elf in an armour.

Cecil

"Hm? What is it, human? Wanna buy my services? Hmph! I‘ll have you known, I am a strong warrior! Cecil the dark elf, not that you need to know that… A-Also, my services ain‘t cheap, got it?! That‘ll be 5 gold coins and I MAY consider joining you!" 5 gold coins seems not that expensive for a merc. But you tell her, you‘d think about it and head off. You can hear the dark elf yell after you. "O-Okay, 4 gold coins! I‘ll follow you for 4 gold coins! J-Just don‘t leave me hanging, got it?" You nod and continue down the alley. Suddenly a dwarf woman approaches you. She‘s smirking and giving you a thumbs up.

Denri

"Heya there, handsome! Need someone fixin' yer gear? Well, ya came to the right gal! Imma fix yer gear AND fight off the baddies for only 6 gold coins! How 'bout that, eh? Denri the dwarf gal‘s my name! Dun go lookin' for a better deal, 'cause you ain‘t gonna find one!" The dwarf woman gives you another cheeky smile. She seems very friendly and diligent. And dwarfs are a rarity these days. Maybe 6 gold coins isn‘t that bad of a price? You let Denri know that you‘ll think about it and continue onward. As you pass by a particularly bright area in the alley, you find another elf standing there. She is wearing white clothes - possibly a cleric or white mage. As you get closer she begins to slowly speak up.

Syliana

"U-Umm… Well met, warrior. My name is Syliana, I am a cleric that can help you on your adventures. I am proficient in healing and support magic. I-If you want my services, th-that‘ll cost you 5 gold coins. O-Of course, I would need the money up-front. Umm… I-Is that okay?"

A cleric? And for only 5 gold coins? That is quite the deal. You nod and tell her, you may come back for her later. Syliana nods quietly and smiles. As you continue on your path through the alley you are suddenly stunned by an incredibly rare sight: a Shadar-Kai! A race of elf, that is almost impossible to find. As you step closer, the woman begins to speak. Her voice seems devoid of any emotion.

Shakrey

"My name is Shakrey. I use dark magic. Service cost is 5 gold coins. That is all." You hesitate for a moment. Before you can even ask her about the blindfold, Shakrey answers. "No, not blind. Sensitive eyes. I can see without them using my magic. No worries. It will not be a problem." You nod and let her know, you will decide later. Shakrey nods and sits down on a nearby bench. A couple minutes later you reach the end of the alley and begin to think. The four women you met come back to your mind. You have 25 gold coins. You could decide to hire them all, or only select some - or even just one. What will you do?
