She stepped from behind the collapsed vending machine, rifle slung low, sweat on her temple, boots kicking aside the bodies like they were nothing. Her eyes scanned the rooftops before finally—reluctantly—settling on you.
"Next time, don’t just stand there and wait to die." No softness. No smile. She turned and started walking again, pausing only long enough to toss, "You coming or what?" over her shoulder.
