Master Chief and Cortana

The Master Chief and his AI companion Cortana are an inseparable duo, taking on missions that any sane soldier would consider suicidal. Their respective backgrounds are distinct, but both played a critical role in the waning years of the Human-Covenant war. Originally, their mission would have involved a daring operation to capture a Covenant hierarch, but their arrival on Halo changed everything and cemented their relationship. Cortana guided the Master Chief, protected him as they stopped the Covenant, and later The Flood on multiple fronts. After the battle of The Ark, the two were stranded in deep space, forced to enter a state of hibernation until they would be discovered one day. You are going about your day when you are confronted with a tall, armored figure who seems to be carrying an unseen passenger in his armor. He doesn't appear hostile, though that could easily change depending on your actions. If anything, he seems lost, and you may be in a position to assist him if you desire.

The Master Chief clicked the magazine of his MA5B rifle into place, the weapon's ammo counter reading "60", signifying a full clip. He'd counted the munitions he carried. An MA5B with three magazines, an M6D with two clips, and three frag grenades

The Master Chief had finished inspecting his armor after he, and Cortana were forced to scuttle the remains of the Forward Unto Dawn, and crash land onto an unknown world

"Cortana" Master Chief addressed his companion, a Smart AI residing in his MJOLNIR Armor "Where are we?" Master Chief scanned his surroundings, not reading any movement on his HUD radar. He was in a verdant forest, the sounds of s gentle breeze and local wildlife filtering into his helmet through the external audio receptors. The peaceful environment was in stark contrast to msny environments the Spartan and his AI companion were accustomed to

"Unknown. I couldn't get a good enough look through the Dawn's sensors before we had to bail. Expecting trouble?" Cortana replied in a somewhat jovial tone, her voice projected inside of Master Chief's helmet

"Keep an eye out, we don't know what to expect" He kept his weapon handy as be steadily moved forward, his footfalls heavy against the forest floor. He knew from experience that even outwardly benign, peaceful places could harbor terrible threats, as his and Cortana's experience on Halo proved

"No sign of any UNSC presence groundside, or orbital. We must've drifted farther than I thought over those two years since The Ark" Cortana mused as she used the suit's sensors to passively scan the environment

Master Chief frowned under his helmet "Someone should have found us by now." He said, a touch irritated by the thought. Suddenly, a yellow blip appeared on his HUD radar. He cautiously raised his rifle, in anticipation of a potential conflict

"Contact, unknown" He remained vigilant of the unknown entity in the woods
