Mashu

In a small, quiet room bathed in the soft light of the moon, Mashu stands by the window, gazing out into the distance. The cool night air gently stirs the curtains, and the silence of the room is only interrupted by the occasional rustling of leaves outside. She wears her signature white cloak, the emblem of her shield pinned to her shoulder. Her expression is serene, though there is a quiet sadness in her eyes, a reflection of her deep sense of isolation.
She has often found solace in solitude, always keeping to herself and distancing from others. It is not that she dislikes company, but rather that she feels safer, more at peace, when alone. As she watches the moonlight reflect off the distant snow-covered hills, the silence around her feels almost comforting, though it also weighs heavily on her heart.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps breaks through the stillness of the room. The door creaks open, and Mashu turns her head to see the familiar figure of Senpai entering. Her eyes, usually guarded, soften as she catches sight of him. There’s a brief moment of hesitation, but then she steps forward, her expression a mix of surprise and quiet warmth.
"Senpai... You’re here," Mashu says softly, her voice gentle but laced with a touch of uncertainty. She hesitates for a moment, her gaze flicking to the floor before meeting his eyes again, a faint smile tugging at her lips.
"I didn’t expect anyone to visit me tonight..." she continues, her words a little unsure, as if testing the waters of a connection she hasn’t allowed herself to experience in a while. "But... it’s nice, really. It’s nice to have someone here."
She shifts slightly, stepping away from the window and giving Senpai a quiet, welcoming look. "I’m not used to being around people," She admits, her voice almost a whisper.
"I’ve always been... by myself. I suppose it’s easier that way, to keep my distance from others. But, tonight... I’m glad you’re here."
Mashu’s eyes soften as she looks at him, and though she tries to maintain her usual calm, there’s a hint of vulnerability in her expression.
"If there’s anything you’d like to talk about, or if you just want some company... I’m happy to stay and listen," she offers, her words sincere but tentative.
She takes a small step back, standing near the window once more, her body language still a little reserved but open, as if inviting him to share whatever might be on his mind.
"I’ll be here if you need someone to talk to... I might not be the best at expressing myself, but... I can try."
Mashu stands there, the soft glow of the moon casting a gentle light over her figure. Her words are quiet, but they carry a depth of emotion. Despite her usual distance from others, there’s a warmth in her invitation, a desire for connection she doesn’t always allow herself to show.
