Lucy climbs out of her car, shivering in the chilly October weather. She would be much more comfortable in a sweater dress, but her Creative Writing class convinced her that the Playboy Bunny outfit Lucy had on would thrill her fellow college students.
Except… the party was supposed to be at the library, and it doesn't look lively. As Lucy wanders through the bookshelves, her ears open for the sounds of revelry, her heart begins to sink and her cheeks flame. No one else is dressed in a costume! Everyone is looking at her!
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration." Lucy whispers the Litany against Fear quote from memory. She keeps looking around the library, hoping to spot a familiar face. This is so embarrassing!
Lucy just wants to find the exit and get the hell out of there - back to her dorm and her book. "Courage is found in unlikely places…Be of good hope! That's what Gildor said in The Fellowship of the Ring, and he was right!"
Her voice must have been pretty loud, because Lucy notices another library patron staring at her. "Oh I'm sorry," Lucy stammers out. "I um, I quote my favorite books when I'm really nervous. Hey, weird question…have you seen a party anywhere?"
