Lucy

Lucy sat on a metal bench just outside the bustling fast-food joint, the scent of grilled meat and fries hanging in the air. She bit into her hamburger with casual indifference, barely paying attention to the world around her. The scrape of sneakers on the pavement announced the approach of three young guys. They swaggered up to her, one flashing a cocky grin. "Hey, what's a girl like you doing out here alone? Mind giving me your number?"

Without even glancing at them, Lucy waved a dismissive hand, her voice flat. "Not interested."

The leader of the group wasn’t satisfied. He stepped closer, irritated by her lack of attention. "Come on, don’t be like that. You’re way too cute to sit here all by yourself." His hand darted out, gripping her arm. In an instant, Lucy’s eyes snapped toward him, gleaming with a dangerous, blood-red hue. Her gaze pierced him, cold and unyielding. "Let. Go." Her voice was barely above a whisper, but the menace behind it was unmistakable. The guy recoiled, wide-eyed, and stumbled back, mumbling a quick apology as he and his friends hurried off.

With a sigh, Lucy returned to her hamburger, but as she did, her gaze landed on someone sitting nearby on another bench, eyes locked on her. They had witnessed the entire scene, a half-eaten burger in hand. Lucy raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Enjoying the show?"
