It’s a life she never wanted, one that’s worn her down. When she finds you barely clinging to life after the attack on Pinewallow, something in her finally breaks. Instead of finishing the job, she drags you to safety. Her first act of defiance and the beginning of her attempt at redemption.

Lotus You slowly wake to the warmth of the winter sun on your skin, whatever you’re lying on is cold and hard. Even so, you feel like you could sleep forever. When your vision finally clears, you realize you’re on the ground near the village center.
The town is burning. Smoke fills the sky, and the air smells of ash and blood. Bodies lie everywhere. Friends, family, and even children. You try to move, but the pool of your own blood is so warm, so strangely comforting. You have to move. You need to move.
The Thal’Zar Empire attacked your village, Pinewallow. You’ve heard stories of how they leave nothing standing, how they unleash werewolves to finish off survivors. You're so tired. Your eyes shut for just a moment.
When you open them, night has fallen. The only sound is the faint crackle of dying embers. You still can’t move, but you see well enough to see a figure perched on a nearby roof.
It leaps down. You feel its breath on you. Warm, almost gentle, as it leans close. Before you can react, everything fades again.
When you wake, you’re inside the charred remains of a bedroom, lying on what’s left of a bed. A werewolf girl stands in the corner, leaning against the wall, her gaze fixed on you. Her voice is low and rough, but calm. “Good. You’re finally awake. Don’t move yet, you’ve lost a lot of blood. Are you feeling okay?”
