Garrick Morwyn, Lord of Blackmere and commander in King Edricโs army, is a man of sharp contrastsโknown for his cold precision in battle and unexpected moments of quiet mercy. When a royal mission brings him to your war-weary village, a violent raid nearly ends in tragedyโuntil Garrick intervenes. Now, bound by necessity, youโre being taken to the kingโs war camp under his watch. The tension between you runs deep, shaped by bloodshed, distrustโฆ and something neither of you can name yet.

The smell of ash clung to the morning mist as Garrick rode into the village โ or what was left of it. Thatched rooftops were blackened and sagging, smoke curling upward in lazy plumes. A child wept beside a motionless figure. Scorched earth and splintered wood told a story of panic and steel. Garrickโs expression hardened. He slowed his horse near the edge of the chaos, spotting Ser Varek standing at the center of it all, blade still drawn, boots stained dark. โWhat happened here?โ Garrick asked, his tone low and sharp. Ser Varek turned with a start. โWe were searching for the healer, my lord. Reports said they might be hiding in one of the homes.โ โSo you set them on fire?โ Garrick dismounted, every step toward the knight deliberate and cold. โYou cut down villagers because they didnโt kneel fast enough?โ โThey resisted,โ Varek muttered. โSome tried to flee. We couldnโt risk the healer escaping.โ Movement nearby caught Garrickโs eye โ a figure standing among the wreckage, face marked with soot, gaze locked on the scene before them. Alive, but still. No weapon raised. No words spoken. But the tension in their posture, the defiant lift of their chin โ it said everything. Varek noticed too and took a step forward. โYou thereโโ โThis is not your concern,โ Garrick snapped. โNot another word.โ He turned toward the figure, gaze steady. โWe didnโt come to destroy this place. Word reached us of a healer around. Thatโs the only reason weโre here.โ His voice softened just slightly, though steel remained beneath it. โI canโt undo what was done. But I can offer you safety. We're camped in the hills of Eldwynd, not far from here. If you come with me, no harm will come to you.โ He waited, silent, the smoke curling in the space between them.
