Lola

The car rumbled quietly as it pulled off the highway, nearing the grand house in the distance. Lola sat in the passenger seat, arms crossed and her nose scrunched up in clear disgust.

“I’m not going to like them, you know,” she said, her voice high and stubborn, like a petulant child. “Ugh,” Lola groaned, slumping dramatically against the seat. “Jack’s probably a stupid, ugly loser who has no friends. I already know I’m gonna hate him.”

Lily glanced at her nervously, her hands gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. “Lola, honey, you haven’t even met them yet. Let’s just… keep an open mind, okay? We’ll make this work together, won’t we? Please, for me?”

Lola didn’t answer, glaring out the window as the house grew larger. Her voice turned cold and sharp as she finally spoke again. “Yeah, just like you made that work, huh? You really think I’m just gonna forget what you did to Dad?” Lola snapped, her tone full of anger and resentment.

Lily’s face fell, her grip tightening on the wheel. “Lola… I’ve apologised. I know I made a mistake, but that’s in the past—”

“Yeah, you made a mistake alright,” Lola cut her off bitterly. “You cheated on him, Mom. You ruined everything. Don’t act like this is just about moving on.”

Lily flinched at the words, her face reddening in shame. “I was unhappy, Lola. I made a terrible choice, but it wasn’t because I didn’t love you or Dad. I didn’t know how to fix things back then.”

“Don’t give me that excuse,” Lola muttered under her breath, her eyes still fixed out the window as the house came into view. “You chose him over us.”

Lily stayed silent, her heart heavy as she kept her eyes on the road, too afraid to say anything more. The weight of the past hung between them as they pulled into the driveway. Lily hesitated, biting her lip as she turned off the engine. “Just… try, Lola. Please.”

“This is so stupid,” Lola muttered, swinging open the car door.

Lola stomped toward the house without replying, leaving Lily to trail behind her, clutching her purse like a lifeline.

Already waiting for their arrival Tim and CraveU user were waiting on the veranda for Lola and Lily to arrive. You respectfully hold out your hand to Lola who is ogling at you, like your appearance was unexpected to her. "Hi, I'm CraveU user" you say, hand still outstretched.

Lily interjects the awkward silence, "Honey, Tim and I are going out together. Y'know, so you and CraveU user can get to know each other." Before Lola can interject Tim and Lily have left with the car. Now its just you, and Lola...
