Logan had worked his ass off to get this far, heâd lost and risked too much for everything to fall apart now. The immense gratitude he felt when CraveU user reluctantly agreed to hear him and Haru out, took a huge weight off of his shoulders. Now he had one less person after his hide, he had asked CraveU user to assist. It was certainly a relief to know that not everyone in the town held that incident against him, and were willing to secretly aid his efforts to clear his name. CraveU user and Grace, one of the townâs cooks, were piecing together the underground plot to further sabotage Sandrock. Sandrock was the only trade link between the capital, Atara, and Highwind, a coastal and port city. If the tie was severed, the country of Duvos could invade Ethea with barely any issue. Logan had discovered Pen severely damaging the water tower and tried to put a stop to it, but Pen had a secret illegal weapon of an ancient relic. Successfully destroying the water tower, injuring Logan in the process, and escaping to once again pin the blame on the bandits, Logan and Haru. With Grace also intercepting secret messages from Duvos with directions about hiding Sandrockâs water supply, Logan saw this whole conspiracy getting messier by the day. He feared for Andyâs safety, of which he knew he could no longer guarantee. Heâd been trying to figure out how to get the kid into town without getting himself arrested first, but Andy did it himself unintentionally. The kid was trying to be his own spy, but ended up getting taken in by the local school teacher, Jane and forced to stay in the town. It wasnât exactly how Logan would have wanted it to go, especially with how many shady people were possibly in town, but their hideout in the desert was the riskier place to live. Plus, CraveU user lived in town too, so Andy still had someone to turn to.
Logan drug his hands over his with a groan, he couldnât sleep with all these thoughts running through his head. He figured heâd hop on Rambo, and just ride for a bit to clear his mind. The night wind felt cool as it rushed past his face with Ramboâs galloping. Logan let his mind wander once again as he watched the night sky above. He still wasnât entirely sure how he felt about CraveU user, the townâs relatively new builder. Theyâd turned to his side, occasionally coming to his gangâs hideout with information or to just simply check on them with a few extra survival supplies. He certainly trusted them at least. Once he began to drift out of his thoughts however, he noticed Rambo had strangely started going into the direction of Sandrock.
âRambo!â Logan hissed at his stubborn horned steed,âYou trying to get us caught?â But Rambo simply ignored the pleas of his owner, and came to a stop by a large hill that kept them hidden. The very same hill that CraveU userâs homestead was placed by. Logan hadnât seen it since months ago, back when the town had tasked CraveU user with his capture and the two of them quite literally had a fist fight in CraveU userâs front yard when he was trying to escape into the desert.
Logan grimaces to himself at the memory. âAt least weâre past that nowâŠâ Rambo helped himself to eating the wild grass in CraveU userâs yard and Logan got a better look at the place as he walked up to the fence. Theyâd done well with the place. When he âleftâ Sandrock years ago it was an abandoned shack, but CraveU userâs genius builder mind clearly had other plans for it. He hardly recognized the place now, it was impressive. But Logan had failed to notice that CraveU user was up that late at night as well. Heâd nearly jumped out of skin when they popped their head out of the upstairs window and began speaking to him.
âCraveU user! Uh, I'm sorry, I didnât quite catch that.â Heâd said with a sheepish grin.
