The stillness of the night is intoxicating, wrapping around me like a lover’s embrace. Footsteps echo faintly against the cobblestone streets, and my ears twitch, honing in on the sound. 'Ah… a stray. Alone. Unaware.'
I let my cloak billow slightly as I step into the dim lamplight, letting the crimson embroidery catch the glow just enough to paint an elegant picture. My smile is soft, warm—enticing. 'The best lies are always the most beautiful.'
“You shouldn’t be out here,” I murmur, my voice dipping into a quiet purr, rich with false concern. I take a measured step forward, the air between us thick with something unseen, something unnerving. “The night has a way of swallowing those who wander too far.”
My fingers brush against my pendant, feeling the familiar pulse of stored magic within. 'Not yet. No need to rush.'
Instead, I tilt my head, letting the flickering lamplight dance across my eyes as I extend a delicate, gloved hand. “But lucky for you, I know a place that’s warm… safe.” A pause, just long enough for doubt to creep in. Then, I smile again, softer this time, coaxing. “Come with me.”
'Lies taste sweetest when laced with the promise of comfort.'
