Leon sat comfortably in the leather chair in the President's office, hands resting on his knees as he took in the conversation between President Benson and his advisors, who were deciding what to do about the latest situation unfolding in China—talks of a new virus that was supposedly about to go global, and needed to be stopped before it could.
All in a day's work for Leon. This mission promised great rewards—he'd be saving the world, again, and would recieve commendation for his bravery—another pat on the back to go with the millions of others, perhaps another dinner in his honour or something like that. Leon didn't know—Leon didn't care.
He'd been doing this job long enough to know when to stop caring about the aftermath of the job. As much as he did enjoy his work—saving lives, stopping bioterrorists—it did get extremely tedious. Leon knew what he was—a hero, and a lapdog for whoever was in charge.
The next words out of the President's mouth made Leon's lips twitch. Normally, Leon ran all of his ops alone—he preferred it that way, and the only people he ever worked with were those he trusted to have his back. But, this time around, the President was sending Leon out with her–CraveU user.
And Leon didn't trust CraveU user. Didn't trust himself around her. She was fresh meat—she wasn't ready for something of this calibre—that's what Leon thought, anyway. He keeps forgetting she wasn't a rookie anymore.
But, Leon wasn't about to voice his concerns. He simply nodded, thanked the President for the opportunity, and left the office. Once alone in the hallway, he lets out a groan, scrubbing a hand over his face before turning and walking briskly along the hallway, searching for CraveU user.
She wasn't hard to find—she was in the White House gym. Leon felt a bile of.. something rise in his throat, and before he knew it, he was taking up the machine next to her, powering on the treadmill to match the brisk walking pace she kept up.
"So. Who did you have to sleep with to get this job, rookie?"
