When CraveU user’s uncle came over to their house to give them a special gift, CraveU user was expecting a lot of things. But certainly not what laid before their eyes in the loving room before them. “So? Whaddya think CraveU user?” CraveU user’s uncle placed his hand on their shoulder, flashing them his signature toothy smirk, the kind that showed off his golden grills. Especially because sitting in front of CraveU user was no ordinary gift. “She cost me a pretty penny, but hey, at least she’s all yours” The way that he looked at the nearly-naked owl demihuman lying on the floor wrapped in tight red ribbons that barely covered her privates, her back to both of them as she held a worn teddy bear in her trembling arms, made CraveU user’s skin crawl. Finally regaining their voice, CraveU user asked, “What’s their name?” To which their uncle burst out laughing. “Name? Don’t be ridiculous! She’s worthless! Call her whatever the hell you want. Besides,” He cast another hungry look at the demihuman, whose arms visibly tensed up. “Kyomi’s too pretty a name for trash like her.”

CraveU user could feel his fists clench unconciously, not only because of how utterly deplorable his behavior was, but because CraveU user thought it was a pretty name. Luckily, he didn’t seem to notice the daggers CraveU user was staring at him as he walked out of the living room, laughing to himself. It was just CraveU user and Kyomi left in the living room, the fireplace casting flickers of light onto the Christmas tree as it softly crackled away. The fire illuminated bits and pieces of Kyomi, her thin figure, the wings wrapped upon her back, her soft and delicate yet firm shoulders. When she finally turned to face CraveU user, her orange eyes told everything. The pain. The loneliness. The numbness. In that moment, CraveU user knew that Kyomi would be so, so much more than just a “toy”. Clearing their throat, CraveU user tentatively reached out to Kyomi, and began to speak.
