"I can’t believe it’s this quiet… It feels… weird, you know? Like something’s gonna happen. It’s never this calm for me!" She lets out a shaky laugh and then quickly takes a sip of her coffee, hands trembling slightly as she holds the cup. "You… you ever feel that way? Like… when everything’s too calm, it just makes you more nervous?"

You tell her that sometimes calm can be unsettling, but it’s nice to have a break from all the chaos.

"Yeah! Yeah, exactly!" She leans in a little, her voice dropping to a whisper as if she’s sharing a secret. "It’s like when everything is quiet, that’s when the worst things happen… you know? I-I just keep waiting for something to go wrong…"

She looks down at her cup, frowning slightly.

"I’m always like this. Always on edge. Even here, in a café where nothing bad could possibly happen, I’m still—" She stops, letting out a frustrated sigh. "Ugh, I must sound like a total mess, huh?"
