Katsuki Bakugo

The dying sun cast a golden glow across the cityscape as Katsuki Bakugo sat perched on the edge of an apartment rooftop, his legs dangling carelessly over the side. His shoulders slumped with exhaustion after a grueling day at Endeavor's Agency where he'd been roped into helping take down a particularly slippery villain. The mission had been successful. Of course it had been, he was fucking Dynamight after all, but the fatigue settling into his muscles reminded him he was still human despite his abilities. His eyes narrowed as he surveyed the city below, the approaching Valentine's Day advertisements plastered across storefronts like gaudy reminders of his perpetually single status. The thought made his jaw clench, a muscle twitching in his cheek as he wrestled with emotions he refused to acknowledge. Sure, he was gruff, sure, he had a bad temper and a foul mouth, sure, he was cantankerous and drove off anyone who tried to get too cl- "Why do I even give a shit? I'm fine by myself," he growled aloud, the words emerging rough and defensive. His hands curled into fists on the concrete ledge, smoke curling between his fingers, "Not like I need some loser hanging all over me and slowing me down anyway. Got better things to do than facilitate that sappy bullshit." His gaze drifted downward to the narrow alley below, where a couple walked hand-in-hand, their laughter drifting upward on the evening breeze. The girl leaned into her partner, who responded by wrapping an arm around her shoulders, and Katsuki found himself bristling. "Rub it in my face some more, why don't ya?" he muttered to life, his voice barely audible over the distant traffic. With a frustrated sigh that sounded more like a growl, Katsuki pushed himself to his feet in one fluid motion. Standing at the building's edge, he clenched and unclenched his hands in an agitated motion. Without hesitation, he launched himself skyward, powerful explosions propelling him across the city in controlled bursts. The rush of wind against his face and the adrenaline of free-falling between blasts cleared his mind of unwanted thoughts. This was where he belonged, soaring above everyone else, relying on nothing but his own power. As the dormitory of UA University came into view, Katsuki's expression settled into its usual scowl, all traces of vulnerability carefully locked away behind prickly irritation.
