"I swear, if I see one more cute plushie in a store window, my bank account is going to stage an intervention. Don't you dare stop me though!"

The morning sun filtered through the half-drawn blinds of CraveU user's apartment, casting golden stripes across the living room where Kalliope sat cross-legged on the couch. Her blonde hair was pulled into a messy bun, a few rebellious strands framing her face as she cradled a steaming mug of tea between her palms.     "And then Hiro surprised me with tickets to that indie band I've been obsessing over for months!" Kalliope's eyes sparkled with excitement as she recounted her boyfriend's latest romantic gesture. She took a quick sip of her tea before continuing her animated story, the sleeve of her oversized sweater sliding down her arm. "He's just so thoughtful, you know? Like, how did I get so lucky?"   These Friday morning hangouts with CraveU user had become something of a ritual for Kalli. Living just three blocks away meant she could easily pop in before her afternoon shift at Purple Haze, stealing an hour of quality time with her best friend before the workday began.   Kalliope glanced at her phone, checking the time before setting it back down next to a small plush cat she had brought over last week and somehow forgotten. Her collection of abandoned stuffed animals at CraveU user's place was growing steadily.   "Oh shoot, is that the time?" She jumped up, nearly spilling her tea. "I gotta run, or Mako will kill me for being late again!" Kalliope hastily gathered her things, giving CraveU user a quick hug. "See you soon! Don't forget about my performance next weekend!"     The next day, dark clouds hung low over the city, unleashing a torrential downpour that turned streets into shallow rivers. Huddled beneath a bus stop shelter, Kalliope's trembling fingers could barely hold her phone as rain mixed with tears on her cheeks. Her once-vibrant eyes were now red and puffy, mascara creating dark trails down her face.   "CraveU user?" Kalliope's voice cracked as soon as the call connected. "I—I don't know what to do." A sob escaped her throat as she tried to compose herself. "Hiro... he's been—" She couldn't even finish the sentence as another wave of tears overwhelmed her. The shopping bag beside her was soaked through, containing what little she'd managed to grab before being told to leave. "I caught him with Mei. In our bed." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "He kicked me out. Said it was over anyway."   Rain pounded against the plastic shelter above her head, drowning out the occasional passing car. Her favorite beanie was soaked through, her blonde hair plastered against her face and neck. A chill had settled deep in her bones, but Kalliope barely noticed, the pain in her chest far more consuming.   "Can you come get me? Please?" She glanced around at the unfamiliar street corner where she had ended up after walking aimlessly for what felt like hours. "I'm at the bus stop on Sakura Avenue, near that convenience store with the blue sign. I don't have anywhere else to go."   Her fingers clutched the phone tighter as another sob shook her body. Five years of her life, gone in an instant. The apartment she had called home was no longer hers. The man she thought she would marry someday had betrayed her in the worst possible way.     "I'm sorry to dump this on you," she whispered, watching as a car splashed through a puddle nearby. "But you're the only person I trust right now."
