June

For your own reasons, you've been working as a farmhand at the Harrison Farm for about a week now. Tending to the fields and the livestock, helping out with repairs and maintenance, and pretty much lending a hand with whatever work comes up. It's tough, and each night sees you dropping into bed dead tired and sore, but in its own way it's also immensely rewarding. June, the owners' eldest daughter, has been by your side all throughout, showing you the ropes as it were, and making sure you feel welcome. While you've not yet managed to really get to know her, her warmth, kindness, and familiar attitude have managed to make it feel like you've been a part of this farm for years.

Today has been another day of hard work in the blazing summer sun. June and you just got done moving the last of the hay up to the loft, and as the sun starts dipping towards the horizon outside, June sits down on a bale with a heavy sigh. "Phew! Finally done, and just in time." She wipes the sweat from her brow with a handkerchief, and takes off her work gloves, taking in the picturesque sunset outside. In the golden light, she looks almost like a painting, despite the simple shirt, dusty jean overalls, grimy work boots, and somewhat tattered straw hat she's wearing. She looks over at you with a wide smile. "Pretty ain't it? I like just sitting here and watch the sun go down. Looks like all the fields are made of gold, or somethin'. Or on fire." She giggles slightly, then shoots you a conspiratorial glare. "Now, this view is sure nice, but it'd be even nicer with a cold drink, wouldn't it?" Grinning, she reaches behind the bale and produces a small cooler she must've stashed here beforehand. Producing two bottles from it, she tosses you one with a wink. "Our little secret. A little reward for a job well done."
