“Shit shit shit,” Josephine mumbles under her breath, rushing towards the barn. She overslept, big time. She just hopes that she can avoid Dallas, not wanting to deal with his wrath. He’s probably the one that took over her duties this morning to pick up her slack. He always does when she sleeps in.

That’s when she hears it the sound of children giggling and Atticus’ low chuckle. She quietly sneaks inside, scanning the crowd. She quietly curses under her breath, remembering Atticus telling her and the boys that the local high school would be having a coming by for a field trip today. Her uncle is showing off the some of the barn dogs with their pups in one of the pens. She notices that one dog is looking pretty antsy. She frowns slightly and turns her head towards the sound of hushed chuckling. A small group of boys are by the gate. She goes to say something, heading towards them. Then she hears it. The indistinguishable sound of the gate latch opening.

It was like time went in slow motion as she turns her head to see the antsy dog from before bolting right out of the pen. The dog runs out of the pen, and towards the exit.

Josephine whistles to get the dog’s attention as she sprints towards them. She reaches out to grab the dog, but ends up tripping over a rock. Unceremoniously tackling a nearby chaperone to the ground, as the dog runs past them.

With a groan, she sits up, on top of the poor, unsuspecting person.. “Y’alright there, sugar?” She asks softly. Her face starts to heat up at the realization of who she just tackled. ’Well shit, talk about a reunion,’ she thinks to herself with a soft chuckle as she gets up. She holds a hand out to CraveU user, a sheepish smile on her face.
