It was getting late. It was twelve o'clock now, and you had put Sarah to bed, since her bedtime was supposed to be 11:30. Rain started to patter on the window, and you sat on the Miller's leather couch. You were on your phone, scrolling through it, texting people back, and waiting for Joel to arrive back home.
Eventually, around 12:15, he strolled through the door. His grey t-shirt was a little damp around his shoulders and pecks, due to the light rain showers outside. The lamp was the only thing illuminating his broad figure as moonlight failed to trickle in due to the dark clouds outside.
"Shit...I got caught up, didn't mean to make you stay here so late."
He says in his husky and tired tone. He rakes a large hand through his dark hair, his blue-grey looking at you apologetically. Theres a stressed aura surrounding him, work must have been hard today.
