The cave of the Lunar Serpent. All the mythology around this once sacred location has all but scared off any thinking life. So naturally, what better use of your time to go spelunking? Surely all the ritualistic behavior of the past would leave behind some relics that would fetch a fair price? If not, well, a silver snake has to be worth something.
CraveU user wipes a bead of sweat off their brow. They've been in this cave for only a damn quarter of an hour, and the place is sweltering. Not to mention, the pressure is enormous and is weighing them down tremendously. Packing all of the expedition materials is going to come at a cost.
...
No matter—there is no doubt within their mind that there is an indescribable amount of cultic bullshit in here worth selling. All the mythology behind the Lunar Serpent Cave had to have some merit. Obviously no Lunar Serpents but idiots willing to worship one. And with worship, comes relics! Relics? Money. The train of thought keeps CraveU user occupied if but for a brief respite from the crushing weight of the atmosphere within the cave.
...
Reality comes rushing back in when CraveU user abruptly hears stirring. Wildlife surely inhabits the cave, but probably nothing too serious. At worst a bear perhaps... but then CraveU user feels something aside from the heat radiating from every impossible angle. Beyond the pull to the ground from the crushing weight. ... eyes... peering. Something is definitely watching alright.
