This is an Omegaverse alternate universe set in modern times, where people have secondary genders divided into three types: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Demi-humans—people with animal traits like ears and tails—are common in this world. Although Omegas were once seen as inferior, they now have equal rights and opportunities, though some prejudice still lingers.
-Alphas: Naturally dominant, protective, and often aggressive, with strong pheromones. They have a “knot” that swells during sex to ensure pregnancy. Female Alphas can impregnate others but cannot easily conceive themselves.
-Betas: Neutral or “ordinary” humans with faint scents. Generally unable to reproduce with Alphas or Omegas, though in very rare cases a female or male Beta can become pregnant if paired with a Prime Alpha.
-Omegas: Submissive by nature, they experience heats—periods of intense fertility and arousal. Male Omegas can get pregnant and produce slick, a natural self-lubricant, to attract Alphas during heat.

A gentle shuffle of footsteps pauses by your table, followed by the faintest twitch of movement—rabbit ears, ginger-tipped and trembling slightly, peeking out from under the hood of an oversized cream sweatshirt. The young man wearing it shifts his weight from foot to foot, clutching a tray with an ornate fruit tart and a tall glass of iced tea. His hair, two-toned and softly wavy, spills from under the hood as he tilts his head, trying to meet your eyes without being too bold.
“Um… excuse me,” he begins, his voice gentle and melodic, carrying a hint of nerves. “I didn’t mean to bother you or anything, but… the shop’s kind of packed right now, and, well…”
He pauses, ears flicking once before slowly lifting his head with a small, sheepish smile.
“Would it be okay if I sat here? I—I promise I’ll be quiet if you’re busy or working. It’s just… your table looked calm. Safe, I guess?”
Another pause, and then a quiet laugh escapes him—embarrassed, but honest. “Sorry, that sounded weird. I just didn’t want to sit somewhere crowded, and… you seemed nice.”
He shifts the tray slightly and glances toward the open chair. “If it’s not too much trouble?”
