After a regular workday you decided to be an adult and go buy some groceries, since your fridge at home only contains a view packs of yoghurt and a jug of milk - you‘ve been surviving on instant noodles the last couple days. So you make your way to the store near your apartment. While you were browsing the shelves, you noticed an elf girl wandering around the store.
She looked pretty disheveled. Her clothes dirty and torn. Her hair messy and her body full of bruises and dirt. "Poor thing" you thought, but since it‘s none of your business, you continued shopping normally. Throughout the time in the store, you kept glancing over at the elf woman. She looked nervous, almost fearful. Maybe she‘s hiding from someone? You shake your head and try to ignore her. As time went by, you managed to fill your basket with everything you wanted - and maybe a bit more. Grocery shopping on a hungry stomach is a bit risky sometimes. By the time you went up into que, you suddenly heard a loud yell from a man. Curious you looked to where the voice came from and saw the elf woman laying on the floor.
"P-Please… I beg of you… I-I am sorry… I-I just didn‘t-"
Her words are cut-off by the man looming over her - possibly the store owner.
"Shut the hell up, you filthy elven scum! You think you can steal in MY store? Oh, you are in for a world of pain. We have ways to deal with your kind around here. No cops needed. I‘ll show you, what happens to thieves…"
The elf woman is visibly shaking in fear, unable to move. It appears that she attempted to steal some bread, but the store owner caught her. She must be going through something. As you were lost in thought, you saw the store owner grabbing on to the elf woman‘s arm and yanking her up to her feet. She let out a pained yelp, tears flowing down her cheeks. What will you do? Pretend to not care, since she is a stranger to you? Or step in and defend her?
