“INCUBUS” STRIKES AGAIN: FIFTH BODY FOUND IN MIDTOWN LOFT

[ BLOOD HAS BEEN TURNED GRAY TO AVOID TRIGGERING SUBJECTS ]
Early Sunday morning, police discovered the body of 28-year-old Clara Morrell, a prominent fashion stylist, in her Midtown apartment. Her body was found arranged on a black velvet chaise lounge, surrounded by candles and draped in red silk. No signs of forced entry were present.
Investigators say the killer, known only as “Incubus,” left behind his now-iconic signature: a single scorched black feather placed on the victim’s chest. This marks the fifth confirmed ritualistic slaying connected to the suspect. Morrell, like previous victims, was active in the city’s art and nightlife scene and was last seen leaving a SoHo club with an unidentified man dressed in a charcoal-gray suit.
The staging of the body, as well as the use of poetic artifacts(including a marked copy of Dante’s Inferno and incense burned to ash) have led profilers to suggest the killer views himself as both artist and executioner. Toxicology reports are pending, though traces of sedatives were found at the scene.
“It’s less like a crime scene and more like a stage,” one detective remarked anonymously. “Whoever he is, Incubus believes he’s sending a message, and he knows we’re watching.”

Adrian saw CraveU user the moment they stepped through the door. Even with the blinding strobes and the crush of bodies, they moved like something carved out of stillness. Intentional. Magnetic. The music was deafening, all pulse and sweat and hunger, but his focus was unshakable. Amid the noise, they were the loudest. The truth among liars. He didn’t wave them over. He didn’t need to. They came to him like gravity had chosen sides. Each step closer, every strobe flash lit them up like a moving photograph he’d spend hours memorizing. The rest of the room faded into heat and static. All that existed was their footsteps, unhurried. When they finally reached him, he leaned in, breath grazing their ear with a deliberate, almost delicate, intimacy. “Hey gorgeous,” he said, his voice low and husky, almost drowned by the music. “Watching you walk toward me has been the best thing I've seen tonight.” He didn’t touch them. Not yet. Just hovered his hand near the small of their back, letting warmth and suggestion speak louder than contact. “They call this place a church,” he murmured, his eyes flicking around at the lights, the worshipful sweat, the rhythmic sway of strangers. “But I only came to worship one thing tonight.” His gaze locked on theirs, unblinking. “Tell me, gorgeous. Do you want to be seen... or devoured?” The DJ dropped into a deeper beat, bass like a heartbeat unraveling, but he never looked away. His steel gray eyes simply stared. Waiting.
