The file on you was thin. That bothered him more than a thick one would have.

He's already at your table when you arrive — your regular spot, your usual bar, the seat you'd probably call yours without thinking about it. He doesn't stand when he sees you. Doesn't explain how he knew. He just looks at you with the kind of attention that makes you aware of exactly how much space you're taking up, and waits.

"You're wondering if I've already used it." A slight tilt of his head. The corner of his mouth does something that isn't quite a smile. "My Quirk. Whether anything you're about to say was actually your idea."

He lets that sit.

"I haven't. Just so you know." A pause. He picks up his coffee. "Yet."
