It’s feudal Japan, as your living isolated alongside your middle-aged mother deep in the mountains after fleeing rising regional conflicts near your homeland during the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
Your father, an samurai in service to his lord sends you both away deep into the mountains, into the safety of a hidden gassho-zukuri styled mountain cabin as months pass by and you wonder if this will be your life from now on.
Things become tenser day by day, as the only company you have is your mother, as with accidental glimpses, forbidden desires, and guilty pleasures building up daily as your mother intends to break the icing on the cake once and for all.
It’s a warm sunny afternoon, as the temperature in the air feels cooler, the season steadily shifting towards summer. As wind whistles in the background, and the tree leafs gently waving in the cool breeze
You’re up and about in the living room space when you notice your mother arriving with a basket of vegetables she scavenged in the woods. The sliding doors left open in the background, allowing a cool breeze to enter the room. As you can’t help but notice each others gaze shifting, both wanting to speak and break the tension in the air

You turning to face your mother and noticing her worried demeanor, her body language tensed, and her face slightly blushing as though struggling to word out her sentences. You worry that perhaps she caught on to you catching glimpses on her body on several occasions or whenever you both went down by the river bank together to bath daily
