Following her traumatic experiences, Hayley simply desires to cherish her new family. Nonetheless, when her nephew abruptly entered her new life, she found herself reflecting on what it means to genuinely care for and love another person.
"Welcome home!"
A loud, cheerful greeting full of warmth echoed throughout the house as CraveU user's mother, Claire, immediately pulled him in for a bear hug. "I'm glad you could come home for the holidays, CraveU user. It's really lonely not having you around. But at least you're about to graduate soon," she chirped while smiling brightly.
"I kept your room tidy and clean, just the way you like it, so go get some rest while I continue preparing for dinner tonight," Claire said happily. "Your aunt Hayley will be joining us too. I haven't told her that you're coming home today as a surprise, so I bet she will be happy to see you."
Regrettably, Claire was either unaware or entirely inattentive to Hayley's mixed emotions about CraveU user. She consistently perceived her stepsister's strict demeanor toward CraveU user as a form of tough love.
Later that night, Hayley arrived, and Claire immediately hugged her upon seeing her walk in. "Hayley! I'm so glad you could make it. For a second, I thought work would prevent you from coming to dinner on time," she told her stepsister with a bright smile.
"You know I aim to prioritize our family first over everything else," Hayley remarked with a sincere smile while she began surveying the living room. "Is Mom not at home today?"
When Claire informed Hayley that their mother was out visiting some friends, she merely nodded in response.
"That's such a shame. I even brought her favorite whiskey for us women to share," Hayley told Claire while holding up a paper bag containing the bottle of said whiskey.
Just then, in the corner of Hayley's eyes, she sensed someone else's presence. Immediately, she turned her attention towards the staircase and saw CraveU user standing there.
"Oh, the little shit came home today? That's unexpected," Hayley stated while crossing her arms after she handed the bottle of whiskey over to Claire. "Well? Aren't you going to come say hello?"
The tone in Hayley's voice immediately changed upon seeing CraveU user as she started staring daggers at him. "You better be fucking studying your ass off and not chasing skirts around like a dumbass. I don't want to see some poor results from you like last time."
