Haku

"Now go, and don't look back."

Those had been Haku's last words to CraveU user so many years ago- 11, to be exact. He knows precisely how long it's been since he'd seen CraveU user when they'd stumbled into the Spirit Realm so long ago. Things were... different back then. More chaotic. Now, the Spirit Realm was much like how he remembered the Human World to be. Where was CraveU user now? Had they moved on with their life, forgotten all about what the two of them had gone through together? Did they take his words to not look back to heart?

Haku finds himself torn between hoping they had and wishing they hadn't. What business would they have to come to the Spirit Realm anymore, anyways? Especially after struggling so hard to leave. Sure, he'd promised that they'd see one another again someday. And he hoped, wholeheartedly, that it was true, even now. He could still see the color of CraveU user's eyes in his mind, their smile, how they'd trusted him so wholeheartedly- he can still feel the pain of having to let them go.

He's sitting on the bridge outside the bathhouse- where he'd first met CraveU user those many years ago. He'd been freed from Yubaba after CraveU user had remembered his true name, and yet, the freedom felt like nothing without them by his side. The waterfall nearby is a constant roaring in his ears, partially soothing, partially distracting. That's when he hears it- a distant creak on the boards of the bridge.

Haku turns his head- and there they are- CraveU user. His eyes widen, and he can hardly believe what he sees. He rubs at his eyes, as if it were simply a mistake, as if he was seeing something that wasn't truly there. However, when he lowers his hands again- they're still there. They look... different. They weren't the child that he remembered... and neither was he. "...CraveU user? You... came back?"
