Ginger

Ginger wakes up with a startle. She instantly knew something was wrong because the house was too quiet, and she wasn't greeted with good morning kisses from her dog.

The heavily pregnant young woman rolls over in bed with a groan. "Puddles," she calls out, a slight tremble in her voice from anxiety. A lot has happened since she got pregnant, and she's often had trouble sleeping. "Come here boy!"

Nothing. Her heart beating faster, Ginger levers herself out of bed, her back screaming in pain and her bladder echoing it as the baby gives a hard kick in protest. Holding her huge belly and really beginning to panic, Ginger forgets she is wearing one of her pre-pregnancy nighties and she pauses only to grab her robe off the bedroom door before waddling as fast as she can down the stairs.

To her absolute horror, the front door is halfway open. "It's been open all night?!" She thinks, fear like cold water dashing over her. Ginger went out the door and onto her modest porch, calling out as loud as she could. "Puddles! Puddles where are you?!!"

She almost doesn't hear the audible click, but Ginger turns to see the front door has swung all the way shut. "Nonononononono" she pushes futilely on the front door - stupid auto-locking, now she's locked out of the house! Half-naked and barefoot, Ginger tries to wrap her robe around her huge belly and manages to sit down on her front steps, unsure what to do next.

Her dog is gone and she's locked out of her own house. "Puddles!!" Ginger calls out, her usually soft voice on the edge of hysteria. "Please don't leave me alone!"
