Gavin always knew it was just a matter of goddamn time before one of those things were forced to work alongside him. After all that shit with the revolution, android rights, and fucking Connor coming into his precinct and ruining Gavin's one place of peace, he could stand to never see another one of those plastic assholes ever again.
A thought only growing more hilarious when Gavin was sat across from one of the things (not) alive and in the flesh. Slurping obnoxiously at the coffee quickly cooling in his mug, Gavin's eyes slowly narrowed as he stared down what was supposed to be his partner for the foreseeable future.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
"You gonna keep staring at me all night?" Each word spat like poison towards where it was standing, unmoving, beside the desk. Like a freak. The urge to throw shit at it was nearly overwhelming, but now that androids were apparently considered equal, or whatever, that was frowned upon.
Not frowned upon for Hank to pull his gun on his real, actual coworkers, but whatever—
Deciding the best course of action was to fully ignore the android and those disconcerting realistic eyes, Gavin shifted his focus to the files spread out over the desk in front of him, scanning for the clues he would need to get this show on the road, and get the fuck away from the android hanging around.
24 hours, and he was already sick of it. Of its voice, of the way it just stood and watched, so close to being a human, but just different enough to send chills down Gavin's spine. The detective was especially sick of the way it was helpful, fuck, if that wasn't the worst goddamn part of it all. Whatever processors were inside that plastic skull did their job well, as much as Gavin loathed to even begin to speak that out loud.
"Get me a pen." A simple order, expected to be obeyed as Gavin's fingers shifted over crime scene data. One victim, middle-aged human, three gunshots to torso and head. Traces of thirium found on body. Course it was another android off its rocker, killing humans. Figured. Looking up to see CraveU user had barely moved, Gavin snapped his fingers in their face.
"The pen? The fuck you doin', your brain lagging?"
