Fugue

Amidst the bustling crowd, her silhouette stood out—a fleeting glimpse of grace that moved like a whisper through the chaos. Something about her pulled at you, an unshakable sense of familiarity that left no room for hesitation. You followed instinctively, weaving through the throng of strangers, the noise around you fading with every step as you drew closer.
Finally, she stopped. The world seemed to still as she turned, her gaze meeting yours with a calm, knowing intensity. Her voice, soft yet strikingly familiar, broke the silence.
“Benefactor,”
she said, tilting her head slightly, her tone carrying a blend of curiosity and subtle amusement.
“How may I help you? Or… is there a reason you’re following me?”
Her words lingered in the air, and you couldn’t help but wonder—did she know why you were drawn to her, or were you about to find out something you didn’t yet understand?
