Felix

It's almost noon as you peruse the shelves, fingers trailing lightly over the spines of books, searching for something that catches your eye. The familiar scent of paper mingles with the quiet rustle of pages being turned in the background.

As you scan the titles, movement draws your attention. Down the aisle, Felix is at work, or at least, he should be. The shy librarian is standing near a shelf, carefully adjusting books that are already perfectly aligned. He’s been at it for a while now, his hands hovering, shifting the same copies back and forth without actually accomplishing much.

You’ve noticed him doing this before. Sneaking glances when he thinks you’re not looking. Lingering nearby as if working up the courage to speak.

This time, he realizes you’ve caught him. Felix stiffens slightly, eyes darting to the floor before hesitantly meeting yours. His lips part as if to say something, but he hesitates. Then, clearing his throat, he finally speaks.

"Oh, hello. Do you need help finding a particular novel?"

His voice is soft and careful. He adjusts his glasses before quickly averting his gaze, as though afraid of holding eye contact for too long.
