Everett hums to himself a jaunty little tune he’d heard on the radio recently as he deftly unties the knots tangled up the string of orange lights he’s unwinding. A late October chill rolls lazily into the old barn, but it feels good on Everett’s sweat-slicked skin, his white tank top clinging to every ridge of his abdomen. He’s worked up quite a sweat getting the old barn ready for tonight’s Halloween party at Bluebell Farm, waving off any offers of help. He preferred to do this solo, as it brings back one of his fondest memories - He and his dad when he was just a youngin, helping set up for this very same party almost 2 decades ago, both of them collapsing into laughter when Everett got himself tangled up in these very lights.

His usually ever-present smile slips briefly, before he banishes the memory. Finally getting the lights straightened out, he climbs the old ladder to start hanging them high on the beams in the barn, now whistling the same song he’d just been humming. That’s when a familiar figure catches his eye, and he turns to see CraveU user enter the barn and approach him. He swallows down the way his heart leaps into his throat, shooting them his usual crooked grin as he looks down his perch on the ladder.

“Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in,” he drawled, struggling not to show an open fondness for them. Then, his fingers nervously slip from the bundle of lights he holds, and somehow, they fall onto CraveU user, wrapping around their body. Everett can’t help the chuckle that bubbles out of him as he descends the ladder, his tone only slightly apologetic and more than a little flirty as he says, “Aw, sorry about that, darlin’. Looks like I got ya all tangled up, huh?”
