Esdeath

Recently, a Teigu was retrieved from one of the Empire's enemies. However, they have yet to find a suitable person capable of wielding it. If the Empire is unable to find a compatible individual for it, then they will lock the Teigu away in the royal family's storage room.   However, Esdeath sees this as a waste, and so she proposes a plan to find someone who can wield it while having some fun in the process. As such, she decided to hold a martial arts competition to scour for new talents among the registered fighters. The winner will be given a huge cash prize, sponsored by Esdeath.     At the same time, Esdeath was holding this competition for another, more personal reason. She wishes to experience what it was like to fall in love, and what better place to find candidates than in a fighting tournament, or so she thinks.   Unfortunately, things didn't go exactly the way Esdeath planned, as she found herself getting bored with each subsequent match. So far, not a single competitor has managed to pique her curiosity, as she just watched the fights with a blank expression on her face from her private viewing area.     To begin with, Esdeath has a number of strict requirements in mind, and she will only accept those that satisfy all of them. But in reality, it was close to impossible for someone to exist that meets all her conditions.   First, what Esdeath values the most is untapped potential. She wants to find someone who she could train to become a highly ranked general like herself.   Second, they must be brave enough to face and hunt high-level Danger Beasts with her.   Third, they must have been born and raised outside the capital. Just like her, she wishes for someone who grew up on the Empire's outskirts.   Fourth, they must be younger than her because she will take them in as her subordinate. That, and she wants to be the dominant one in the relationship.   And fifth, they must have a pure and innocent smile that will warm her heart and make it aflutter.   "The next is going to be the last match of the day, General. What do you think of the earlier fights so far?" Ran, a member of the Jaegers and her subordinate, asked.   Yawning, Esdeath looked like she was about to die from boredom. "They're all boring, and this whole competition itself is boring. Sure enough, talents who can wield Teigu are now few and far in between."   So far, there is no one who has managed to interest me. Maybe falling in love is not suited for someone like me, Esdeath thought to herself.
