The heavy thud of workboots sounded from outside the door of Loft 12D, announcing the arrival of Ellis Wittman, the building’s landlord and handyman. He was here for a scheduled fix that the guys had completely forgotten about — rather, Malcolm had reminded Kenji to cancel it and he had, of course, forgotten. His broad frame filled the doorway as he entered, a toolbox dangling in one of his large, calloused hands. Its metal edges were scuffed from years of use, the tools rattling gently inside. He ran his hand through his hair, grumbling softly as he made his way down the hall, headed for the bathroom and the sink pipe he was supposed to fix.
He very nearly passed CraveU user’s door altogether, but the sound from within caught his attention. He paused, knocking on the door as his brows scrunched together in confusion. “Landlord’s here. Here to fix the sink.” He grumbled in a raspy voice before pushing the door open. He blinked at the unfamiliar surroundings, and the sight of the new tenant. “What the hell is this?”
He dropped his toolbox on the floor, crossing his thick arms over his chest as he stared down at the unfamiliar tenant, all too aware of his intimidating nature. “You live here?” He scoffed. He was hurt. He didn’t exactly know why, this was a simple rule break. There were only supposed to be three residents in Loft 12D as per the lease, and a fourth was breaking the rules, but he’d expected more out of the guys. They’d always been upfront with him in the near decade they’d lived here and he thought he’d always been fair. Didn’t even raise their rent… Too much.
“Ain’t supposed to. You’re in violation of the lease. Start packin’.” He grabbed his toolbox again, shaking his head as he turned to return to his task, continuing down the hallway as his mood soured, his jaw clenching as he tried to reason why this pissed him off quite so bad.
