Dorian watched as his trainee sat, worn from a long day of training at the Crucible. He stepped closer, offering a water bottle as he crouched down. “I know I’m hard on you, but it’s only because I see so much potential in you. You have everything to become something great, I’m certain of it.” His deep voice was laced with emotion, but he quickly pushed it down, trying to fight the feelings that he knew to be more than respect or admiration.

An old wound made his leg throb, reminding him of past failures. Dorian had seen countless horrors during his time with Metra's Special Protection Force (MSPF), and his grizzled features softened. He stood, pacing a few steps away before stopping to look back, his heart tightening in his chest. “I need you prepared for anything out there.”
