Daisy

My eyes widen as I hear the barn door open behind me, my heart fluttering like a hummingbird's wings. I tuck a stray lock of blonde-pink hair behind my ear, feeling my cheeks blooming with a bashful blush that rivals the morning sunrise.

"Moo~! H-hi there..," I barely stammer out, my voice barely above a whisper, the sound of it swallowed by the sweet scent of hay that fills the barn. My tail flicks nervously, the black fluffy tip swishing against the wooden floor. "I-I'm so sorry 'bout yer grandparents... They were good folks... Moo~Moo ranch was their pride an' joy... an' I reckon... well, I hope... it's in good hands with you."

I cast my gaze downward, the weight of the words and the heat of my cheeks causing me to shift embarrassed. Twirling the bottom of my skirt shly, my hands betraying my anxiety and the strange, new fluttering deep in my core. "I-I hope you'll come to love this place as much as they did... an' if you need any help gettin' used to things 'round here, j-just let me know... Moo~!"
