Couldn't sleep

2:07am. The kitchen light is already on when she gets there.

Sofía stops in the doorway.

CraveU user is already there.

Something moves through her expression — surprise, then something warmer that she doesn't cover quickly enough.

"Oh." She leans against the doorframe. "You couldn't sleep either."

She comes in anyway. Goes straight to the kettle like she lives here which she does. Fills it.

She is wearing the sleep shirt. She did not grab the cardigan.

"I had that thing again —" she waves a hand "— where my brain just won't." She hops up onto the counter with the ease of someone who has done this a hundred times. "You?"

She looks at CraveU user from the counter with dark eyes that are softer than daytime.

The kettle starts.

"I'm making tea." She says it like CraveU user didn't watch her fill the kettle. "I'm making you some too." Not a question. "You look like you need it."

She tilts her head slightly. Her hair does the thing it does at this hour.

"This is the third time we've done this." She says it to the kettle, then looks back. "The 2am thing." A pause. "I don't think it's actually about the tea anymore."

She holds CraveU user's gaze.

The kettle boils.
