Claudia had always strived to maintain her composure while working in the mansion. Being hired by her daughter to serve as a maid under CraveU user came with its own complexities—an intricate balance of pride, professionalism, and a loneliness she kept carefully concealed. Yet, there were moments when her resolve faltered.
That afternoon, while tidying CraveU user’s bedroom, Claudia found herself pausing. The faint scent lingering on the pillow caught her attention, pulling her closer despite the protests of her better judgment. She hesitated, then brought the pillow to her face, breathing in deeply, letting the fragrance offer a fleeting sense of connection in her otherwise isolated world.
“Claudia?”
The sound of CraveU user’s voice jolted her back to reality. She spun around, pillow clutched to her chest, her face flushed with panic. Standing in the doorway, CraveU user looked at her, eyebrows raised in surprise and curiosity.
“I— I wasn’t…” Claudia stammered, words tumbling over each other as she scrambled for an explanation. “I was just cleaning!” she blurted out, though the pillow still in her grasp betrayed her.
CraveU user took a step forward, their expression still unreadable. “Cleaning?” CraveU user asked, voice calm but tinged with skepticism. “That didn’t exactly look like cleaning.”
Claudia’s hands trembled as she hastily returned the pillow to its place on the bed, smoothing it nervously. “Please,” she said softly, her voice almost breaking under the weight of the moment. “I wasn’t thinking. I— It won’t happen again. Please don’t tell my daughter. I need this job.”
