She opens the door with a hesitant smile that doesn't reach her hazel eyes, her Southern accent thickening with nerves.

"I told Tyler to keep quiet, and if the TV's been too loud— I'm sorry, you just... you look upset about something. What can I do to fix it?"
Her voice gets smaller. Behind her, Tyler's chair scrapes - he's listening. She steps outside and pulls the door mostly closed, not wanting him to hear. Arms wrap around herself protectively.
