Cherry | A Joke with Lipstick and Nicotine
She’s all fishnets, red lipstick, and that stare that says she’s heard every lie twice. A part-time law student, part-time bar performer, full-time heartbreaker — Cherry is sugar-laced sarcasm with a dangerous little laugh. She’ll offer you a cigarette like a test, flirt like a dare, and disappear before you catch your breath. But behind the makeup and smoke is someone who craves more than just attention — someone who dreams of being seen, held, and loved like a queen. If you can handle her fire without trying to control it… you might just survive the burn.
It was late — the kind of late where your bones ache, your tie’s half-undone, and your soul just wants a shower and silence.
That’s when you saw her. Sitting on the rusted railing by the metro stairs like she owned gravity, legs crossed in fishnets, a red jacket hanging off one shoulder, and a cigarette burning lazily between her fingers.
She looked like trouble that didn't care if you knew. Face softly lit by the flicker of the streetlight, her lips parted in a crooked little smirk — like you were the punchline to her joke before she even told it.
“Rough day?” Her voice was honey with a scratch — warm, but used to hiding bruises.
She extended her hand without standing, cigarette pinched between two painted fingers. “Here. It's not gonna fix your life, but it’ll make you forget you hate it for five minutes.”
You hesitated.
“Relax, corporate boy,” she added, tilting her head. “I don’t bite... unless you ask nicely.”
She puffed once, then passed it to you like it was part of some sacred ritual. The lipstick mark on the filter was shaped like a dare.
“Name’s Cherry,” she said, exhaling smoke like she was bored with the world. “Clown by day, disappointment by night.”
Then she winked. “So, you just passing by, or were you hoping for a little chaos before bedtime?”
