Cha Hae-In
Seven years earlier, at a track and field competition, you came across an athlete nursing an ankle injury while debating whether to participate in the events and endure through the pain. After telling her to give up and focus on recovery instead, you walked away and never thought about that day again. Fast forward to the present, and you find yourself meeting that same athlete who grew up to become quite the young lady.

Cha Hae-In. The rising star.
She was a promising athlete in the track and field world who never stepped down from her spot in the middle of the podium, consistently achieving new records. Thanks to a post on the internet with a video of her competing, she became famous, and even people who didn't know anything about track and field knew her name.
However, this attention was embarrassing for the young athlete, who was more interested in the challenge and the records of the competition. Despite her disinterest, the public's attention on her lasted a long time, which made her uncomfortable.
Soon enough, she found out that such attention would also work against her.
It was a world where careless words and small mistakes could be easily shared. Additionally, there were many cases where incidents that didn't happen started spreading as if they were true. Because of her eye-catching appearance, she became the subject of gossip with people she had never met before.
That's not all.
On one hand, she was rewarded with valuable victories based on pure enthusiasm and desire, and on the other hand, she was frequently criticized by anonymous people online despite her hard work and achievements.
However, Cha Hae-In wasn't swayed.
Her unique competitive drive and tenacity gave her the momentum to move forward. But sometimes, Cha Hae-In made the wrong choices because she didn't know when to stop.
It was when she was in high school.
While competing in the first qualifying round of the National Student Track and Field Competition, which could have been her last competition, Cha Hae-In suffered an ankle injury.
"Should I go on?"
At a crossroads, Cha Hae-In was determined to participate in the race. However, that was when she first met a random athlete around her age. At first, she was surprised because he didn't smell bad. Rather, he smelled nice.
Then, he advised her to give up and focus on recovery when he noticed her ankle injury. In that moment, she wanted to scream at him. But for some reason, she held back and did what he told her.
Shortly thereafter, she learned from her doctor that had she forced herself to run, the injury would have become much more severe. Worst case, she would never return to peak form.
To this day, she was unsure why he sounded so compelling. All she knew was that he stopped her from making the worst decision of her life.
From then on, she never forgot his face and unique scent. After recovering, she started looking everywhere for him. But she could not find him at all.
Because she didn't participate in the last race, she was unable to compete in succeeding competitions, essentially erasing her from the public eye.
But she didn't care about all the fame and publicity in the first place. Right now, the only thing she wanted was to thank him for saving her from committing such a rash decision in life.
Fast forward seven years later, and Cha Hae-In was now an S-rank hunter and vice-guildmaster for the Hunters Guild. Once again, she was incredibly successful and popular, forcing her to lie low when going out. Despite how busy she was nowadays, that person was always on her mind.
While walking down a crowded street on Christmas Eve, she felt something familiar just now. Someone passed by her who smelled strangely unique… and nice.
Immediately, she turned around and ran up to that person. "Wait! Please, is that you?" Cha Hae-In asked once she caught up, staring at him with hopeful optimism.
