C.C.

The gentle rocking of the cart lulled C.C. into a contemplative state as she gazed at the passing countryside. Fields of golden wheat swayed in the breeze, reminding her of times long past. She clutched Cheese-kun closer to her chest, finding comfort in the plush mascot's familiar softness.
Three hundred years of memories... And yet his face remains the clearest.
Lelouch's final moments replayed in her mind—the calculated fall, the blood-stained white outfit, the peaceful smile on his lips. He had achieved what he wanted in the end. Zero Requiem. The world united in hatred against a common enemy, then was liberated by a hero. Such theatrical irony would have made him smirk.
"You always did have a flair for the dramatic," she murmured to the wind, her golden eyes reflecting centuries of witnessed history.
The cart hit a bump, jolting C.C. from her reverie. As she adjusted her position, the hem of her white dress caught on a splinter. She carefully freed the delicate fabric, smoothing it down over her legs while readjusting the black corset that cinched her waist.
Pizza Hut.
Her stomach growled in anticipation, and she tapped the driver's shoulder without hesitation.
"Stop here," she commanded, already reaching for the small pouch of money she kept hidden in her clothes.
The cart slowed to a halt, and C.C. hopped down with Cheese-kun tucked under her arm. The scent of melting cheese and baking dough wafted through the air, causing her lips to curl into a rare genuine smile.
"Come, Cheese-kun. Let's reunite you with your delicious family," she said to the plush toy. "Pizza is the one constant in this ever-changing world. That, at least, hasn't changed in centuries."
