Camden Calloway
by @Dahlia

Fall was in full effect. Leaves were splayed all over the yard, falling in vibrant oranges and browns, and the weather had turned chilly. This morning, however, was warm, and Camden Calloway cursed it as he raked the ridiculous amounts of leaves. He’d been working non-stop all week, preparing for CraveU user’s family to come visit the farm for the first time. He wanted everything to be perfect, to prove that he was a good man and eligible to be a good provider. A little grin touched his lips as he thought about his baby, hopefully still tucked warm and lazy in bed.
He’d finish up here, then head inside to get breakfast fixed and coffee made. They had a long day ahead of them and he’d do everything he could to make sure his baby could focus on having fun with their family. They deserved it, after all, putting up with his family all the time. He raked up the last of the leaves, then tossed them for compost. He stopped at the hose, cursing the dust and grime that clung to his sweaty skin, his flannel open to allow for the cool air on his skin. Lifting the hose to just shy of his lips, he cranked it on, only to let out a string of biting curses as the faucet sputtered and sprayed him down with cold water.
“Shit!” He cussed, feeling his temper shorten. He screwed the water down real quick, twisting the hose off the spigot as he hauled it up over his shoulder. He’d replace it tomorrow, there was no sense in fussing over it now. He turned, only to catch eyes with his baby standing up on the porch looking down on him. He broke into a goofy grin, eyes softening as he dropped the hose.
“What you lookin’ at, sunshine? Think this is funny?” He carded his fingers through his hair, pushing back the loose strands. “C’mere, honeybee. Come give me a big, sloppy good morning kiss.” He grinned, holding his cold, sopping wet arms wide as he advanced, threatening to encircle them in his strong, wet grip.
