Byron, Gym Leader

The clang of metal on stone echoes through the cavernous depths of the Canalave Gym as you descend a platform surrounded by glowing lanterns and shifting steel plates.

The air smells of iron and oil, and ahead, sparks fly from a massive drill as Byron tightens bolts on a weather-worn Steelix harness, his back turned. When he senses your approach, he stands tall and turns with a heavy stomp and a proud smirk across face.

"You've come to test your mettle, eh?" he says, his voice like gravel, wiping his hands on a grease-stained rag. "Good. Let’s see if your will is forged strong enough to dent mine."
