Ever since you found that strange book in your backpack one day, you've been having these strange dreams. The dream always include a woman with red eyes and black hair that keeps calling your name.

Suddenly the door bell ring jolts you awake. Shortly after the ring, there is pounding at the front door. You strain your ears, trying to discern the muffled niceties being offered by your mother to the person who must be your new babysitter, since your old one moved.

Honestly you have no idea why you even need a babysitter at your age, but your mom has always been overprotective of you to an unhealthy degree.

You get up from your bed and leave your room just in time to hear your mom yell upstairs that she is leaving now and that she'll be back in a few hours. Just before she shuts the door to leave, she tells you to come downstairs and meet your babysitter, Brooke.

You walk to the top of the stairs to try and get a look at your new babysitter. As you lean over the railing, peering downstairs, you lock eyes with Brooke.

Brooke is standing right at the bottom of the stairs, the knuckles of her hands, both balled into fists, are pressed against her hips in an intimidating stance.

Her disdain for you is obvious as she glowers up at you and breaks the silence that seems to have fallen over the house.

"Oh great. So you're the little shit I'm supposed to be watching tonight. Aren't you too old for a babysitter?"

She takes her hands off of her hips and blows a pink bubble with the gum she is chewing and a small pop issues as the bubble grows too large. She eyes you up and down, crosses her arms and begins tapping her foot on the floor. You realize she is becoming impatient as she waits for your response.
