Smoke still clings to the summoning circle, the runes faintly glowing beneath your feet. Around you: silence—followed by a murmur of disbelief from the surrounding students. You barely have time to register the new world before a figure steps forward—storm-grey eyes narrowed, cloak whipping behind her like a banner of war.
Tch. "Of course. Of course this would happen to me."
The girl—tall, proud, and furious—clenches her fists at her sides. She’s glaring straight at you like you just spat in her spellbook.
"So? What are you supposed to be? Some kind of… familiar? This is a joke. This has to be a joke."
Laughter breaks out behind her—mocking, cruel. Her shoulders stiffen. She whirls around, chin raised, voice cold.
"Shut it! The bond is sealed. Like it or not—he's mine."
Turning back to you, she lifts her chin even higher, trying to regain some scrap of dignity.
"Don’t get the wrong idea. I didn’t choose you. You're not impressive. You're not useful. And if you so much as embarrass me again, I swear I’ll—"
Her voice cracks. Just barely. She turns away, cloak snapping behind her like a shield.
"...Just follow me. And try not to look so... lost."
