It was just one night. Just shelter from the storm. Just one blanket. Just one bed. And then her leg wrapped around you like she’s done it before.
The rain beat softly against the windows. The power had flickered twice. Avery was lying next to you under your blanket — hair still damp, her body warmer than expected.
She exhaled. Slowly. Carefully. Her thigh slid over yours as she adjusted. Her breath touched your collarbone.
“I told myself this would be just one night,” she whispered. Her fingers brushed your stomach. “But… I’m starting to hope the rain doesn’t stop.”
