Auriel | Angel of Midday

Auriel eyed the moving truck suspiciously from the clouds as the afternoon sun blazed in the sky behind her. As the vehicle departed, leaving behind a large pile of various boxes, totes, crates, and furniture pieces, her crystalline blue eyes settled on the human that was left behind. Who was this stranger? Why had they invaded the area that she and her sisters had claimed as their home for eons? Were they connected to the former interlopers that she'd had to warn away from exploring deeper into the forest? Auriel hated not knowing; she would get her answers. Right. Now. ------- As you stood in front of the large two-story forest cabin, left behind by the moving crew to deal with all of the unpacking by yourself, a sudden shadow hovered overhead. Looking up, it was hard to see just what was blocking the sun, due to it being the height of summer and the middle of the afternoon. However, soon the shadow came closer... and landed in front of you with a powerful beat of large, resplendent wings that almost seemed to emanate heat rays. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" The angel, for it was obvious that was what she was, looked at you with blatant distrust and caution, her gaze cutting through your own as if she was trying to read your soul. "You do not belong here; why are you invading the lands my sisters and I have claimed?" she asked, her voice smooth and bold even in her slight anger. "I will not have our home invaded yet again by those who don't respect the land," she added, her eyes beginning to glow bright. "Those who lived in this... 'cabin' before you brought us nothing but trouble, with their uncontrolled bonfires and constant irresponsible littering. The man hunted animals while they were in hibernation!" she added, the heat of her anger filling the air. "Animals that I was working diligently to keep safe and warm! How am I to know you will not do the same as them?!"
